Community Support
The MCL Longhorn Detachment 1069 supports a range of programs and services aimed at supporting Marines, their families, and the local community. Our initiatives include assisting honorably discharged Marines and veterans, supporting their widows and orphans, and preserving the rich history of the USMC. We are dedicated to upholding the values and principles of the Marine Corps.

Support for Families
Our commitment to the community extends to providing support and resources to local neighborhoods. We actively engage in community projects and initiatives that aim to foster a sense of solidarity and service.
Wheelchairs4Kids
Marines embody the motto of being "Always Faithful" to God, Country, and Corps. We stand ready to assist wherever there is a need. For numerous families, acquiring a new wheelchair is beyond their financial means. With your generous support, contributions, and involvement in the Annual Cpl. Les Stevenson Memorial MCL Golf Tournament, we can provide wheelchairs to underprivileged children in our community.
Wheelchairs 4 Kids is a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing the lives of children with physical disabilities. They offer wheelchairs, modifications for homes and vehicles, and other assistive devices at no cost to families through our Let's Roll Program.
Preserving the rich legacy of the USMC is a fundamental aspect of our organization. We honor and commemorate historical milestones and events significant to the Marine Corps, ensuring that their legacy continues to inspire future generations.
Jarhead Jam
Jarhead Jam is a charitable event designed to unite the community through entertainment, engaging games, a 50/50 raffle, various raffle prizes, and delicious food. The proceeds from this event are dedicated to acquiring supplies for local students, with contributions from on-site vendors, individual sponsors, and veteran-owned businesses in the region.
This event continues to gain momentum each year, having supported hundreds of families in obtaining their school supplies for the academic year.
We extend our support to the families of Marines, providing assistance and resources to help them navigate the unique challenges they may encounter. Our focus is on ensuring the well-being of Marine families.
Toys For Tots
We support the year-round work of the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program and make a lasting impact in the lives of economically disadvantaged children. With your generous donation, we can continue our mission of providing toys and emotional support to those who need hope the most.
In 1991 the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation was created at the behest of the Marine Corps through the gift of a new toy, help bring the joy of Christmas, and send a message of hope to America’s economically disadvantaged children.
Scouting America
The Longhorn Detachment is the proud Charter Sponsor of the Crowley, TX #554 Cub Scout Pack, Scout Troops, and the Venturing Crew. Our facility is used by the scouting groups for camping, scouting events, and projects.
