In Memory

Les Stevenson

CPL Vernon Leslie (Les) Stevenson

March 16, 1846 - January 15, 2025

The Marine Corps League, Longhorn Detachment 1069, is saddened to say goodbye to one of our own, Les Stevenson. A Vietnam veteran, a war hero who, until his last breath, believed in and stood for the United States Marine Corps.

As a Lifetime Marine Corps League member, Les has had a long history with our detachment. His photography, written works, graphic design, and dedication to any task at hand have historically played a huge part in the success of the Longhorn Detachment.

Les has also written many articles for At Ease magazine, further demonstrating his passion for continuing to tell his Marine Corps story and the history of the United States Marine Corps.

Les was also responsible for the detachment's relationship with Wheelchairs4kids.org, which has been the detachment's golf tournament beneficiary for the last nine years.

In honor of his dedication to the detachment and Wheelchairs 4 Kids, the annual golf tournament will be renamed "Annual Cpl Les Stevenston Charity Golf Tournament benefiting Wheelchairs 4 Kids".

Les' dedication to our detachment and the United States Marine Corps will truly be missed.

Semper Fi, brother.
