The Marine Corps League Longhorn Detachment 1069 is proud to serve as the Charter Sponsor for Crowley Scout Unit #554, supporting a thriving Scouting family that includes the Cub Scout Pack, Boys Troop, Girls Troop, and Venturing Crew in Crowley, Texas. This partnership reflects our deep commitment to mentorship, leadership development, and service to the community. By opening our detachment home as a welcoming place for meetings, ceremonies, service projects, courts of honor, and special events throughout the year, we provide Scouts with a place to learn, grow, and build lifelong values rooted in honor, respect, and responsibility.
Through Scouting, young people are given the opportunity to develop leadership, citizenship, teamwork, and character, while learning the importance of service to others. For our members, this partnership also creates a meaningful bridge between veterans and the next generation, allowing Marines and veterans to share lessons of perseverance, patriotism, and community service with local youth.
By supporting Scout Unit #554, the Longhorn Detachment continues its mission of service beyond self—helping shape the future leaders of Crowley and the surrounding communities.

SCOUTING OPPORTUNITIES FOR EVERY AGE
Our Cub Scout Pack welcomes youth from Kindergarten through 5th grade, where adventure, learning, and fun go hand in hand. Guided by the Cub Scout motto, “Do Your Best,” these young Scouts build confidence through hands-on activities, family involvement, outdoor experiences, and service projects.
Our Boys Troop and Girls Troop serve youth from 6th grade through age 18, providing a structured pathway of growth through ranks, achievements, goals, and merit badges that teach valuable life and outdoor skills. This level of Scouting is proudly youth-led, with older Scouts mentoring and leading younger members—building confidence, responsibility, and leadership that lasts a lifetime.
For older youth, our Venturing Crew offers exciting high-adventure experiences for ages 14 through 21. From advanced outdoor expeditions to leadership challenges and specialized activities, Venturing helps young adults push their limits, discover new strengths, and prepare for the future.
