The Marine Corps League Longhorn Detachment 1069 proudly serves veterans, children, and families across our community through year-round charitable programs, outreach, and patriotic service. From supporting Harvest House, Cook Children's Hospital, and Toys for Tots to providing school supplies, veteran visits, and community support, our mission is simple: Marines continuing to serve at home.

We honor and commemorate the milestones, traditions, and historic moments that shaped the Corps, ensuring its enduring spirit continues to inspire future generations of Marines, families, and our community.
CORPORAL LES STEVENSON CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
This premier Burleson event brings together more than 200 players, volunteers, and community partners for a day of fellowship, competition, and purpose, with proceeds benefiting Cook Children's Hospital and Wheelchairs for Kids.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and players, 2025’s tournament raised over $20,000, and this year we are aiming for $50,000 to continue changing lives across our community.
DEVIL DOGS DELIVER SCHOOL SUPPLIES
We are proud to launch a community-wide effort to collect donations and school supplies through a variety of events and outreach initiatives. Our mission is to help equip children for success by providing much-needed backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, and other essential classroom items to patients at Cook Children's Hospital as well as students attending local Title 1 schools in our community.
From May 1st to July 31st, we will be collecting school supplies and monetary donations to purchase school supplies for children in need.
TOYS FOR TOTS - Toy Drive and Celebration
Each December, the Marine Corps League Longhorn Detachment 1069 proudly hosts a Toys Drive & Holiday Celebration in partnership with Burleson ISD, bringing our community together for a joyful night of giving. Families can visit with Santa, donate toys, and enjoy special performances by BISD students, all while supporting the year-round mission of Toys for Tots. With your generosity, we can continue delivering hope, comfort, and holiday joy to economically disadvantaged children who need it most.
From October to December, we will be collecting new unwrapped toys and monetary donations to purchase toys. Look for the boxes in your local stores or reach out to us directly.
CHILI BOWL
In February 2026, the Marine Corps League Longhorn Detachment 1069, in partnership with CASI, proudly hosted our Inaugural Chili Bowl at North Texas Jellystone Park in Burleson. This two-day community celebration featured chili competition, a cornhole tournament, prizes, live music, and family-friendly fun—all dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Harvest House, whose compassionate work supports individuals and families throughout Johnson County and southern Tarrant County.
We look forward to our 2nd Annual Chili Bowl in 2027!
SCOUTING AMERICA #554
The Marine Corps League Longhorn Detachment 1069 is honored to serve as the Charter Sponsor for Crowley Scout Unit #554, proudly supporting their Cub Scout Pack, Boy Scout Troop, Girl Scout Troop, and Venturing Crew in Crowley, Texas. As part of this partnership, our detachment house serves as a welcoming place for meetings, service projects, ceremonies, and a variety of scouting events throughout the year. By investing in Scouting, we help develop leadership, citizenship, service, and character in the next generation while strengthening the bond between veterans and the youth of our community.
