Important Announcements
The day is nearly here! Our Annual Corporal Les Stevenson Charity Golf Tournament, which supports Wheelchairs 4 Kids, is happening this Friday, June 27th!
Final Meeting Reminder
We have one final Golf Tournament meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 24th. Join us at 6 PM to assemble gift bags and wrap up any last-minute details. We will also put together the signs as soon as they arrive. We’ll notify everyone in GroupMe about when the working party will take place.
Call for Donations
We are still in need of golfers, raffle items, and door prizes. Please keep an eye out for opportunities to collect these items. Don’t hesitate to reach out to local retail and restaurant businesses for any donations they might be willing to offer. You might be surprised by what you can get!
Loading Day
On Thursday, June 26th, please meet at the detachment at 3:30 PM to load everything up for the tournament. We’ll be at the golf course from 4 to 6 PM for pre-setup. On Friday, we’ll start setting up at 6:00 AM, so please arrive as early as possible. The tournament kicks off at 8:00 AM.
Raffle Tickets Available
Raffle tickets are still available! If you need tickets, please get in touch with Holly or Jack to arrange a time to pick some up. You can sell tickets either in person or via our website. Tickets are priced at 1 for $5 or 10 for $20. We’ll draw 3 lucky winners on Friday! This year, we have some fantastic prizes:
A chest freezer filled with $500 worth of meat
A Traeger Grill
A Yeti Cooler
Upcoming Events
Following the Golf Tournament, we’ll have our Annual Jarhead Jam. We’ll be stuffing the 5 Ton Truck with school supplies on July 27th at Thunder Alley Cycles in Joshua.

A Reminder of Our Mission
As we come together for these events, let’s remember our mission. The MCL Longhorn Detachment #1069 aims to be the go-to place for all Marines and Navy FMF Corpsmen in our area. We are dedicated to ensuring that the traditions of the Marine Corps live on. We are here to provide a helping hand to veterans, their families, and those in need.
